Looking for a printable that will help build your young learners’ number sense?
These clip cards are just the thing!
Each clip card features a ten frame with 0-10 objects inside it.
Your learner’s job is to figure out how many more objects would bring us to 10 total.
Sometimes, your learner will need to count each empty space to get the answer.
Other times, your learner will be able to solve the problem by simply glancing at the ten frame.
You can also use these clip cards to teach the concept of basic addition.
After we solved each card, I showed my daughter how to write a simple math fact.
She was excited about this and wanted to write the number sentences herself.
As you can see, she often forgot which signs to use when … and we are still working on number formation and neatness. 😉
We focused a little more on writing neatly and carefully on the back side.
Will you use these clip cards with your learners?

HI there, how would you adapt these in the classroom? Would you use them as early finishers tasks? or have as rotations? and would you put the answer on the back so that the student can self-assess? how would you do it with a class of 25?? thanks in advance
Anna G
You could use them as a math center activity or as an early finisher activity. 🙂 I would probably put a dot on the back so students can check their answers.

LOVE the idea of make 10 clip cards, but due to the religious background of our school population, we cannot use fantasy/mythical images. Are you able to remake this using a different theme for the images?
Anna G
Hi Kate! That may be a future project, but I don’t have immediate plans to make another version of this freebie.
Jacques
