I don’t know what winter is like where you live, but here in the Midwest I’d prefer to hibernate for a few months.
If I were young and single again (and no, I don’t want to back in time, despite the prospect of a (much) thinner waistline), I’d cozy up with a good book and some hot chocolate.
But these days, the minute I sit down a certain preschooler is begging me to get up again. “Mom, when can we do some activities? Mom? Is it snack time yet? Mom, I’m booored!”
Thankfully, my Three (almost four) is easy to please. She loves when I browse Pinterest and navigate to one of my favorite blogs for a fun activity.
So this post is for me as much as it is for you. I need a place to go to find the simplest, easiest winter arts and crafts to do with my preschooler.
10 simple winter projects for preschoolers
1 – We’ve already made these pom pom mittens from No Time for Flashcards. I love how simple they were – and how much fun my Three had making them.
2 – This invitation to build a snowman from Fun with Mama looks so inviting!
3 – You’ll need to grab some white lunch bags, but you should have everything else on hand for this cute snowman puppet from I Heart Crafty Things.
4 – Danielle at Fun Learning for Kids is brilliant at thinking of simple crafts and activities – don’t you love this melted snowman shape craft?
5 – Grab some blue construction paper, Q-tips, and paint, and you’re all set for this simple snowflake craft from No Time for Flashcards.
6 – Homemade puffy paint is easy to whip up – and you can make this melted snowman project from Munchkins and Moms.
7 – If you work with toddlers or young preschoolers, the winter process art at the left is perfect! Learn more at In the Playroom.
8 – I love that this project from Stay at Home Educator uses epsom salt instead of glitter.
9 – You might be surprised at how long your learners stay engaged with this ice painting activity from Teaching 2 and 3 Year Olds. I sure was!
10 – Finally, grab a water bottle and white paint to create a simple winter scene from Fun Learning for Kids.
